Professional tool reviews for professionals

The excellent DeWalt 60V FlexVolt cordless tube wearer demonstrates the company's solid design and attention to detail. This category of tools is very new, but it seems that DeWalt really considered everything. Electricians, plumbers, mechanical technicians, sprinkler installers, and other professionals can be happy that the days of manually threading or running miles of extension cords are over.

Our staff at G&G Electric use DeWalt pipe wearers to make rigid conduits. It takes time to thread the pipe. Making this cordless tool solved a unique problem and greatly improved our productivity.

We think the DeWalt 60V FlexVolt cordless tube wearer is great. So we will solve a small problem we encountered. At first, inserting one of the 1/2 to 2 inch molds into the threader can be tricky. It needs to be close to the fixed position of the pawl. However, it may feel something wrong.

The trick? Once the oil is everywhere during the threading process—it always does—the mold becomes easier to insert and remove.

Since then, using DeWalt 60V FlexVolt cordless pipe threaders has a huge advantage over manual or even 120V threaders. The reason starts with the patented Diarm Clamp-the interesting-looking device connected to the pipe.

The clamp part adopts a vise design with a depth gauge, which allows you to quickly dial in the pipe diameter and install the clamp. Then install the threader on the chrome-plated stabilizer bar of the pipe and fixture (more on this later).

Finally, the swing arm of the clamp descends to the head of the threader and contacts the mold to start threading. Anyone who uses threaded tubes in the traditional way knows that you have to push a rotating mold to get started. This is not ideal. Not only is it unwise to touch the moving workpiece, but the teeth of the mold can cut the metal (and your hand) more easily. In addition, the thread will produce sharp metal fragments. Diarm Clamp eliminates this danger by performing operations for you.

The clamp can also withstand all the torque of the DeWalt 60V FlexVolt cordless pipe wearer, so you don't have to do this. You can thread the thread without it, but you don't want it because you have to resist the rotating force and push the rotating mold. Fortunately, DeWalt is equipped with an excellent E-Clutch, which can turn off tools in the bundle as an additional safety feature. You may notice that Reverse (cancel thread) runs faster than Forward (thread), which saves you some time.

One of the purchasing options for thread processors includes DeWalt's 1/2 to 2 inch high speed steel molds. DeWalt also makes its cordless pipe wearer compatible with Ridgid 12R die heads. This makes a lot of sense and saves professionals from having to carry double sets-which would be prohibitively expensive.

Needless to say, you must lubricate the pipe when threading. Friction generates so much heat that the pipe may break at the thread or worse, creating a near-permanent bondage in the mold. It is designed to apply oil every time it rotates. We love that the DeWalt 60V FlexVolt cordless pipe threader makes threading and oiling a human job!

The FlexVolt battery (model DCB609G) of the brushless motor running the tool is different from any other FlexVolt battery pack. It has an oil-resistant glass-filled shell. Combined with the latch to seal the compartment, this may be the best feature of the threader. Corrosive cutting oil will inevitably be found anywhere on the tool body, but this combination ensures that the battery and its connections remain oil-free.

If the battery pack has not completed the juice of the thread, the low voltage indicator will alert you. The DeWalt 60V FlexVolt cordless tube wearer is Tool Connect, which can be used for inventory management and tracking. As we mentioned, DeWalt seems to have considered this issue.

Milwaukee is the first to introduce the version we are reviewing here. At present, it is still DeWalt's only true competitor in this field so far. The bare metal price of Milwaukee 2874-20 is $1,399. The kit with a battery (2874-22HD) does not include the chip and costs $1,699.

DeWalt means business because it matches the $1,699 price of a kit with two batteries (DCE700X2) and Diaarm clip. In addition, you can purchase a kit with six 1/2 to 2-inch chips for $2,299 (DCE700X2K).

If you add optional tags, this tool can be used with DeWalt Tool Connect. After adding, users can use the Tool Connect application to monitor and track the pipe threading machine. The complete list of kit and die options includes:

We couldn't find any defects in the DeWalt 60V FlexVolt cordless tube wearer. For electricians, plumbers, and many other businessmen, it makes quick and clean pipe threading a one-person job. Its excellent Diarm Clamp, E-Clutch, special FlexVolt battery and compartment, and low voltage indicator make this usually difficult and messy job easier.

For anyone who wears tubes or rigid catheters on a regular basis, this tool can only make you money in the end. Given the average hourly rate for this type of work, the $1,699 price tag shouldn’t scare off picking up this tool

Nonetheless, it was very interesting for the rest of the office, and the results were delicious. From all […]
